Pantry Grain Bowl

The quick bowl you make from freezer, cupboard and fridge-door things.

5–15 minPanBowlEnergy required: Very low. Basically assembly.

This is for the days when the fridge looks empty, but somehow there’s a tin of corn, a jar of pickles and something grainy in the cupboard.

That’s enough.

Warm FROZN, grains, sweetcorn, pickles, something creamy or spicy on top. It’s not trying to be a perfect recipe. It’s the kind of meal that proves you were more prepared than you thought.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 FROZN chicken patties
  • 1 pouch cooked grains, rice or quinoa
  • 2–3 tbsp canned sweetcorn
  • Pickled onions or pickles, sliced

Optional

  • A handful of leaves
  • Cucumber
  • Your favourite sauce: Greek yoghurt + hot sauce; Ranch; Sriracha mayo; Garlic yoghurt; Sweet chilli' Mustard yoghurt

Method

  1. 1
Heat FROZN straight from frozen according to the pack instructions(microwave or pan finish)
  2. 2
    Warm your grains or rice.
  3. 3
    Add grains to a bowl.
  4. 4
Add sweetcorn, pickles and any fresh bits you have.
  5. 5
Add FROZN on top. Finish with sauce, herbs, chilli flakes or whatever makes it taste like you tried.

Why this works

This is the exact kind of meal FROZN is useful for.

You don’t need a recipe. You just need a base, something crunchy, something sharp, something saucy and protein that’s already done.

The pickles make it feel fresh. The corn makes it sweet. FROZN makes it a meal.

Why you’ll make this again

  • Uses pantry staples
  • No proper cooking required
  • Easy to change based on what you have
  • Easy to customise with whatever's in your fridge
  • Perfect when the fridge is giving absolutely nothing

Founder tip

This is why I always keep pickles and canned corn around. They make a “nothing in the fridge” bowl feel weirdly complete. Not fancy, just useful.
