When you've got a little more time, this is worth every extra minute.
It's still incredibly simple, but adding a soft-boiled egg, fresh vegetables and sliced FROZN turns an everyday noodle soup into something that feels like a proper ramen night at home.
Ingredients
- 2-3 FROZN chicken patties
- Chicken bone broth
- Noodles of your choice
- Soy sauce
- 1 egg
Optional
- Pak choi
- Spring onions
- Carrots
- Spinach
- Red pepper
- Mushrooms
- Sesame seeds
- Crispy onions
- Chilli oil
Method
-
1Bring the chicken bone broth to a gentle simmer.
-
2Add the noodles and cook according to the packet instructions.
-
3Boil the egg separately until your preferred level of softness.
-
4If you're using any greens like pak choi, spinach or spring onions, add them for the final couple of minutes.
-
5Meanwhile, heat FROZN straight from frozen and slice into strips.
-
6Pour the noodles and broth into a bowl, top with the sliced chicken and halved egg.
-
7Finish with soy sauce and any extra toppings you fancy.
Why this works
It delivers everything you want from ramen—warm broth, soft noodles and plenty of toppings—without spending an hour making stock from scratch.
FROZN takes care of the protein, so you can focus on building the bowl around it.
Why you’ll make this again
- Comfort food that's still easy enough for a weeknight
- Ready in around 15 minutes
- Easy to customise with whatever vegetables you've got
- Feels like a takeaway, made at home
- Great when you've got a little more time to enjoy dinner

If I'm making ramen, I almost always throw in whatever vegetables need using up first. Mushrooms, carrots, pak choi, spinach... it all works. Ramen is one of those meals that's hard to get wrong, so don't overthink it.
